My dear Teachers,

I owe the debt of gratitude to many celebrated academic leaders and teachers, for their compelling demand that led to creating a national platform of National Teachers’ Congress (NTC) in 2017. Enthusiastic and sincere participation by thousands of teachers from India and abroad in last two years has only reaffirmed my respect in their strength, power and commitment to their noble profession.

An event is just one-time, but a mission is for the lifetime. NTC, is now a mission, and into its third year (3rd NTC), we are even more motivated to enrich this platform to the extent that it ensures more number of teachers are included in policy framing, designing the curriculum and have greater say in laying future educational reforms in India.

3rd National Teachers’ Congress will be held on January 4, 5 & 6, 2019 at MIT World Peace University, Kothrud, Pune, India. This is set to be another intellectually invigorating global convergence of over 5000 bright minds from different parts of India and the Teachers of Indian Origin serving Higher Education Worldwide.

“Leap-Frogging to a Future Ready Higher Education”, will be the central theme of the said Congress with the intention to deliberate & devise ways to resolve the pressing needs of Higher Education Segment at the peak of a Digital Revolution.

In this Digital Era, we rely on education to teach young people tolerance, teamwork, empathy and care — and if not in our Schools and Classrooms of Higher Learning then where? This demands your attention as we believe ‘Teachers have the greatest Influence in Creating Healthy Minds & Bodies and securing the shines of our future generations.’

The esteemed Governing Council of NTC agrees that, we need more innovation in education including all that technology has to offer from apps and bots to AI and blended e-learning. However, while technology should reinvent the role of the teacher in the classroom, we cannot forget that in an era of increased social exclusion and reduced family support systems, the role of teachers to bring humanity, warmth and community feeling is ever more critical.

The 3-day conclave will witness concurrent sessions, paper presentations, panel discussions and knowledge exchange sessions will fearlessly pursue solutions and brainstorm on impact of Innovation & technology on Student Learning Outcomes and Society at large. The sessions will witness voting by participants on specific policy changes that will be submitted to Ministry of Education. One of the key Highlights of the NTC-2019 will be the ‘Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar’-a ‘Life Time Achievement Award’ which pays tribute to outstanding personalities from the Education Industry who have been creating Generations of Innovative and Enlightened Students.

By the end of third day, I am sure, we would be able to take a step ahead in the direction of strengthening the connection with Future ready Education, Research, Innovation & Technology to create Teaching-Learning Environment suitable for the Digital Age. We should be able to define the emotional and social dimensions of teaching alongside the need for enhanced content and “hard skills”.

I invite all of you as the ‘Thought Leaders’, Academicians, Researchers, Teachers and Scholars serving Higher Education in India and across the world to step-forward and take active part in 3rd National Teachers’ Congress-2019.

Dear Colleagues,

India is the largest democracy with a young and vibrant population that is projecting great optimism and bright future. The repeated successes of her space mission s in launching a very large number of communication satellites for global customers are inspiring. However, lack of clean water and irrigation for many fields and the dire poverty in many rural areas are some of the biggest challenges. India today is a country of extremes and only higher education for a much larger fraction of the population will allow her to reach the bright future India needs imagination and innovation inculcated in hundreds of colleges across the country to millions of students for the country to succeed. The quality of thought-provoking discourse that took place at 1st & 2nd NTC assured one and all that this platform is set to contribute for laying such a vision for future educational reforms in India. We feel very proud that, one of the legendary scientists of international repute Prof. Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar has agreed to be the Chairperson of the National Teachers' Congress 2019. Under his visionary leadership inspiration of founding President Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad with dynamic backup from NTC's Founder Prof. Ravhul V. Karad we will able to reshape the NTC in terms of quality and design. NTC 2019 will be more participatory & teachers will be given more opportunities to present their research papers on the various sub themes of the NTC 2019. To create more opportunities for paper presentations we are planning to conduct parallel sessions during the NTC 2019. We are also aiming to give awards / certificates for best papers.

This year's theme of the National Teachers' Congress is ''Leapfrogging to Future Ready Higher Education''. We have also identified several exciting subthemes and hope that participants will actively contribute in the NTC 2019. The NTC is attended by leading academicians and educationists all over the world, representing 5 Continents. Through this platform, we wish to re-define the vital role of professors in building the society and the country. There are large number of respected professors of Indian origin living and teaching abroad, who are making India proud by their exceptional abilities and intellect. We wish to continue to build this dialogue and deliberations with them, in 3rd NTC, through participation at this important and unique discourse and share their experiences with their contemporaries in India. We invite you to join this one of the biggest higher education events in India.

I look forward to welcoming you at NTC-2019 being held at MIT-WPU campus, Pune, India

Regards
