METHODOLOGY ADOPTED FOR NATIONAL TEACHERS' CONGRESS


The various processes for the smooth conduct of National Teachers’ Congress were carried out by adopting the following methodology:


Invitation to Participants: Spirited Teachers of higher education from all over the country were invited to participate in the NTC by writing to the Principals of various colleges and asking them to nominate such teachers. Also, the Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri. Devendra Fadnavis, in his  capacity as the Chief Patronof NTC, wrote to the Chief Ministers of different states requesting them to write to the Principals of the colleges in their states. The received applications were properly vetted before granting participation.

Sessions: Seven Plenary Sessions were planned, each session based on a relevant theme connected with academics and education. The themes were decided by a panel of experts. In addition to this, an Inaugural Session and a Valedictory Session were also held with the participation of luminaries from various fields.

Opening Remarks: One Vice Chancellor from a reputed university spoke at the beginning of each session, expressing his views on the topic of the session.

Chairpersons of the Sessions: Chairpersons of the sessions were usually the Honorable Education Ministers from various states of India.

Teacher Speakers: Two participating teachers were given an opportunity to speak after the Vice Chancellor in each session. The Teacher Speakers were selected through a process of applications invited from the participating teachers

Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar: Lifetime Achievement Awards were conferred on four outstanding personalities, two of these for their enormous work in institution-building and changing the face of education scenario in India and two for their lifelong commitment to research.


Keynote Speakers/Main Speakers: Eminent personalities and educators from various walks of life were invited to speak on the given topic - two Keynote Speakers per session. At times, an extra speaker was given an opportunity, looking into the relevance of the topic.


Question & Answer Sessions: Q&A sessions were conducted during each session, after the end of the speeches by Keynote Speakers.


Felicitations: In accordance with the time-tested Indian traditions, felicitations of each guest speaker and other important personalities were done during each session by conferring a shawl and plaque.
